How to enable call recording on Huawei (Honor) phones without Root access?

Upgrading to Android 9 Pie brought many useful features. Altogether one will be disappointed. Indeed Huawei smartphone users meet the unable call recording issue. The apps provided the function are available no longer since Google blocked the function access.

Company’s excuse is that of some changes in security and privacy policy came in compliance with the laws in some countries. Indeed in some countries the call recording is prohibited if there is no consent given by both speakers. In other countries the record itself is not illegal but one can’t publish privacy info without consent of both speakers. Anyway after Android 9 release call recording feature stopped working on some Huawei and Honor smartphones.

It is worth to mention that some users found out the way to fix this issue. However it is required to get Root access for the device and therefore to have no guarantee. Nevertheless there is less risky way to get the feature back.

How to activate call recording on Huawei and Honor phones?

 

  1. Download HwCallRecorder archive and install it;
  2. Restart your smartphone and open call function;
  3. You will see three points in the top right corner, tap it;
  4. Select “Settings”;
  5. Find “Automatically record calls”, turn it on.
